Village trip on 16th May 2018

Greetings from OSA-IITM Student Chapter!

As we know,UNESCO has declared May 16th 2018 as the First International Day of Light (IDL). We plan to celebrate this day by going to a village and teach the under privileged village kids.

We plan to visit Meyyur village, a non-agricultural village in Poondi Block in Thiruvallur District of Tamil Nadu State,45 KM west of Chennai. It is a typical backward village with water,electricity, livelihood source and health related problems.In 2012 it was adopted by Shri Ramakrishna Math and in 2016 a community centre was established there of.

Plan in detail for, Wednesday, 16th May 2018 is as below::

1.  leave from our college for village at 1:00 pm and return by 9:00 pm 
2.  conduct interactive class on reflection ,refraction and other properties of light from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm, where we
• show them various video showing the above properties of light,
  
• we will explain the same and ask them questions during the same session
  
• we then will give a live demo of the same with our Demo kit
  
3. we also plan to conduct sky gazing for the village children from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
