Hello All,
Tonight we will be holding a talk centered around command line/terminal user interface replacements for graphical user interface software! While CLI/TUI software doesn't always look quite as nice as GUI software (this is up for debate
🙂), it can often be less resource intensive, have better cross platform support, have better interactions with other software, have keyboard driven workflows, and be easier to use over an SSH connection or in TTY.
CLI/TUI software exists for music players, text editors, internet browsers, email clients, file managers, image/video editors, and much more.
On a side note, we have made progress with the OS2G server! The server is now in SEC, and we will be working to get the server up and running during some of the future meetings this semester. If you're interested in working with a server, we'd highly recommend
that you come to these future meetings.
We hope to see you tonight in Avery 19 at 6:30!
Regards,
The OS2G Officers
