to Orlando Ruby Users Group Jobs
Every single member of our team exudes awesomeness and is hardcore at
what they do!
We're a technology and management consulting solutions company
combining Enterprise and Agile methods and technologies to transform
customers’ businesses. We have specific expertise in industries
including Financial Services, Health Sciences, Insurance and
Hospitality.
We offer an energetic and creative environment full of great people
doing big things.
Right now, we are building a development team in downtown Orlando for
a hybrid Extjs/Rails product. The back end is a Rails application
stack that includes an open source CMS, ERP functions and an evolving
cloud-friendly rapid development toolkit. The front end is a
combination of Sencha HTML5 clients and the CMS.
The core framework is derived from the patterns and archetypes found
in works like Len Silverston’s excellent Data Model Resource Books and
Arlow/Neustadt’s MDA/Archetype work.
Skills required:
Ruby, Rails, serious Javascript, Relational Modeling and RDBMS
technology concepts. Design Patterns and very strong OO.
Skills desired:
The core services in the system involve quite a bit of DB-heavy work,
so strong relational and O/R knowledge is a plus. Many of the UIs are
advanced Extjs work, so Extjs, so experience there would help. There
are also rules processing and search indexing components. We’ll factor
performance hotspots towards enterprise Java and we’ll offer a JRuby
version of the product, so those skills would be useful if you have
them.
We get that this skill set doesn’t come cheap. So of course we offer a
competitive salary and a wealth of great benefits. This is seriously a
dream-come-true job for someone who likes to do both hardcore
architecture and head’s down software engineering.
