Hey guys,
Tomorrow is our meeting at CoLab at 7 PM, where we'll be going
through the hands on Rails 3 Ropes Course that Envy Labs will be
presenting at Railsconf. We probably won't get through the whole
thing (it takes about 3 hours), but that really depends on how quickly
everyone else gets through the code. I'm not sure I'd want to go past
9 PM.
To prepare for the meeting be sure to do the following:
1. Make sure you have Ruby 1.9.2-head or Ruby 1.8.7 installed on your
computer. See below for more info on that.
2. Download the following file
http://blog.envylabs.com/Rails_3_Ropes_Course.zip.
I'm having you download it now just on the off chance that the CoLab
and Envy Labs wifi goes down.
3. Run "gem install rails --pre" to pre-download the gems you're going
to need.
4. If you want to be absolutely sure your box is ready to go, open the
readme, do the Prerequisites, and complete step 1. This will ensure
Rails 3 runs well on your computer.
5. If you need a parking pass you can grab one right here:
http://orug-announce.googlegroups.com/web/Parking-May-13.pdf
Lastly, feel free to give me a call at
407-754-5517 if you need to
get into the building after the doors lock.

http://rvm.beginrescueend.com/ Once you follow the directions there to get it up and running, install Ruby 1.9.2-head. i.e. "rvm install 1.9.2-head"

http://github.com/vertiginous/pikto get Ruby 1.9.2 head running. However we have not tried to use Pik, so I'm not sure we'll be much help if you need to troubleshoot. If you can't get Pik running, you might be okay anyways.
