Hey Folks,

As many of you may have heard Acts As Conference was canceled, however Orlando's Ruby/Rails community is just growing stronger.  Your proof is as follows:

JUMPSTART LABS WORKSHOPS

Jeff Casimir is heading to Orlando later this month to do a beginner and intermediate Rails workshop.  Jeff is a fantastic teacher so I highly recommend these classes if you want to get your skills to the next level.  Use the discount code "envy" for 10% off each event.  Here's the classes and dates.

  Rails Level 2  - 9/26-9/28: http://jumpstartlab.com/courses/rails/100926/
  Rails Intro - 9/30-10/1: http://jumpstartlab.com/courses/rails/100930/

MAGIC RUBY

Last weekend Jeremy McAnally announced a new Ruby conference he'll be running February 4-5, 2011 at the Contemporary Resort at Disney.  The conference will be completely free, as many of Jeremy's events always are.  This is not something you'll want to miss.  You can buy tickets and submit talks right now at: http://magic-ruby.com/

WE'RE ALL HIRING!

If you don't have a full time Ruby/Rails gig, and you want one, now is probably the best opportunity to get one in Orlando.  My company Envy Labs could use more talent (send me an email if you're interested), Izea is looking for a Ruby developer (http://bit.ly/9sE2c9), and Voxeo is also looking for Ruby talent.  Is it time to make that career move?  These are all killer companies to work for.

That's all for now, have a great week!
