64 years old pediatrician presented with swelling of MCP joint of middle finger of both hands

Has a history of CVA 5 years back from which he recovers completely and now working as a pediatrician  

Biochemistry is normal

Kindly help me to establish the diagnosis

I would think in terms of an enchondroma but for the symmetrical appearence. What are his symptoms apart from the swelling? If he is symptom free, why not leave it alone? Ofcourse establishing a diagnosis will be of interest. Any features of arthritis?
