BROKEN DISTAL FEMUR LCP

Dear Friends

43 yr old man referred to me for Ilizarov femur

Had RTA FEB 2020- Had bilateral femur R- interlocked united

                    L femur shattered- open bridge plating done Feb 2020

                                                        Bone grafted Sep 2020

                       Jan 2022 implant broke   NO obvious infection

Now what should be done

My plan- remove implant- check NU site for non viable bone/ infection [lowgrade]

If bone viable/ no infection  replate and BG, if non viable/infection bone then Ilizarov and cancellous Bone graft
