Dear Brothers in Christ,

OCN (Fr. Chris Metropulos) and PEMPTOUSIA Greek magazine are organizing jointly a Virtual Fellowship with English speakers using the ZOOM platform, with elder Ephraim, the abbot of Vatopedi Monastery in the Holy Mountain (Agion Oros).

The Holy Monastery of Vatopedi is one of the largest monastery on the Holy Mountain, under the direct omophorion of His All Holiness, Patriarch Bartholomew.  Elder Ephraim is a well respected elder, the spiritual son of elder Joseph Vatopedinos, a  disciple himself of St Joseph the Hesychast of Mt. Athos. Elder Ephraim was invited by OCN and PEMPTOUSIA to participate intros virtual fellowship, and he agreed to participate because of the COVID -19 pandemic. This s a wonderful opportunity to have access, even virtually, to such a well respected abbot.

During the past few months, PEMPTOUSIA magazine and OCN have invited Eder Ephraim to give a word of spiritual support to people from various parts of the world and have gathered many people in such virtual fashion.

Here is for example a similar meeting organized by OCN and Pemptousia with the participation of seminarians and alumni of St. Tikhon seminary in Pensylvania a few weeks ago. https://myocn.net/1st-e-meeting-from-holy-mount-athos-with-elder-ephraim-of-vatopedi-students-and-alumni-of-st-tikhons-seminary/ Kindly fast forward to the 14:28 time stamp, when the meeting actually begins. This will give you an idea as to what one can expect.

The format of the meeting will be a short homily by elder Ephraim followed by questions asked by the audience. There will be simultaneous English translation provided throughout the meeting. The meeting will take anywhere from one hour to 2 hours, based on the number of questions.

Feel free to forward to anyone (English speaking) you think might be interested from your communities.

In order to participate one will have to register for the zoom meeting, in advance, by clicking on the link below.  The meeting is limited to 1,000 attendees. The meeting will also be live-streamed on the OCN and Pemptousia Facebook and YouTube Channels, in case the registration numbers are exceeded.

See below an invitation you can share with the parishioners adding your own information to it.
