Hi,

I need a support for establishing a connection from Orthanc server to Radiant viewer.

The scenario of the same is as mentioned below

I have an Orthanc server placed in google cloud running perfectly and can access the same through my browser at on premise. Now when i try to view the files on the server by using Radiant viewer the search results show the files but cant be downloaded or viewed from Radiant. The server shows the error log as

"W0518 07:47:30.093531 OrthancMoveRequestHandler.cpp:289] Move-SCU request received for AET "RADIANT"E0518 07:47:30.359043 OrthancException.h:85] Error in the network protocol: DicomUserConnection - connecting to AET "RADIANT": Failed to establish association (0006:0317 Peer aborted Association (or never connected); 0006:031c TCP Initialization Error: Connection refused)E0518 07:47:30.359498 MoveScp.cpp:237] IMoveRequestHandler Failed: Error in the network protocol"

Please help to solve this issue.

If Orthanc is in the cloud, you should not access it through DICOM (because the DICOM protocol is not encrypted and therefore, your medical data can be captured at many points).

BTW, in order to move data from Orthanc to Radiant, Radiant must be accessible from Orthanc.  Since Orthanc is in the cloud, you must make your Radiant accessible from the cloud by configuring your firewall/router.  This will also mean that your Radiant will be accessible to basically anyone.

In short: don't use DICOM in a cloud environment unless you use a VPN to encrypt the data and limit access to the DICOM ports.

Hi Sam,

An alternative could be using a DICOM viewer that can communicate over DICOMweb (Radiant does not as far as I know).
This would allow you to access the data in a secure way without using VPN connections.

Grtz.
