to Oregon Randonneurs

Ken Lanteigne and Graham Ross pre-rode the route on Monday.

This is a beautiful route!

This is also a tough 400k route due to the lovely climbs.

Be visible and make the safe choice, especially in these places:

For 2.5 miles of WA-4 after Germany Creek Rd: the shoulder is intermittent.

Wind can be a factor on the Astoria Bridge.

Steel Bridge Deck across Wallooskee River is very slippery!

Staffed control at Big Eddy Park from 9pm to 3am (or until all are thru).

Banks-Vernonia Trail: watch for holes, roots, cracks, fallen limbs. Wooden bridges are slippery!

The restroom at the Banks trailhead was open for us at 4am.

C-store in Banks is 24-hour at 12530 Main St. It was drive-up window only in the wee hours, but they got us what we needed.

After climbing through the Zoo parking lot, it's a fast descent to the finish.
