Hello,

I've been able to put up something on the repository so we can have at least a readme :)

I've been thinking about the entity models and their relationships and here are some of my thoughts.

Based on Seun's last post, I've decided that we'll make it something along the lines of "conversations around the things we like on the web." So essentially, you will have the ability to post links - the url, title and *possibly* a description. I was thinking that once you've entered your url, the app would verify the link and suggest a title based on what it finds on the page and then you can either accept it or modify it and then post.

Orombo users will then be able to comment on the link. Comments can be voted up or down by other orombo users.

So here are the entity models I came up with.

Post, Comment, User, Vote.

Comments and other suggestions are welcome. Once we are through on this, we will start to create the models for the database.

Hi Orombo,

Great, I like Model's simplicity. I think.

a) 'Post' should have an optional 'description' attribute to express
the poster's thought
b) There should be an optional 'Category' entity for organising 'Post'
c) For 'Users' there should be a 'Favourites' entity referencing
'Post' for bookmarking link posts and conversation pages the find
interesting

With (c) users will be able to have a profile page that flaunts what
'he likes on the web'. I think this will make it more social.

//thanks

Thanks Dami for your comment. They are duly noted.

One popular feature available on a number of such sites as Orombo is "karma" (is there a popular local term that expresses this idea properly?).

Does anyone understand how karma is computed? Up votes - down votes...?
