I would like to apply for badge numero dos por favor. I believe that collaboration both on and offline are very important in the classroom. Technology allows students to be more accessible to one another when they are not physically working on an assignment together, but nothing beats working on a group project instead of having to sit through a whole class period reading silently, listening to the teacher lecture, or taking turns discussing a concept one at a time. There are some drawbacks to collaborative learning but if teachers are aware of these issues and make their expectations clear from the very beginning I truly believe that they can make collaborative learning more successful.

Here are the links to my reflection, storify, and lesson plan regarding collaborative learning and online collaboration in the classroom. Enjoy!

Hi Stephanie,

Looks good. I would add the contents of your lesson plan away from the PDF UNH template...and just add the content to your post and make it more about your ideas...and less about the UNH style.

That being said...I love the look at images, symbols, and traits in Macbeth. You're building up semiotics and looking at symbols and meaning-making. This can be quite tough for people to unpack.

Looking forward to seeing how this connects to the other modules in your unit.

Badge awarded.

So should I not use the UNH template or what? My next lesson plan is essentially written out already in that format. I'm not quite sure what you mean by that.

Hi Steph,

What I mean is that you should find a way to post the contents of the PDF on the webpage without requiring people to download it to view it. This ensures that Google will index it...and people will find/use it. You could just add parts of the plan to the page and have the rest downloadable. Also...Scribd, or Google Docs embedding is a nice option.

In terms of the use of the UNH template..I was just suggesting that if you had an alternate version, or a different way to lesson plan you could test that out here. If the UNH template is working...go ahead and keep using it.
