Hi Chris,

This is a good start. You'll need to leave some text letting me know what you're submitting work for...what digital text/tool are you submitting a multimodal tutorial for?

Also, leave the direct link here in this forum thread.

Thanks again,
-Ian

Hi Chris,

Make sure you share the link here to your work for Module 1. I can review and award the badge at that point.

Reaction to readings:
After reading the two articles on Module 1 here is my response:

It seems fitting to read the "Is Google making us stupider" article because it is a go to substitute article to give kids at my high school. Most of the students including me believe that google is not making us stupidier, but perhaps a little lazy. How many times have you gone to the second or third page on a google search, probably pretty low. We live in a world where we want info and media and we want it now! The problem I think we face is that google is a tool, you can use it as a starting point to find real peer-reviewed research, multiple sources about the same topic so you can get different perspectives, and explore some blogs. This was what I saw as the main idea in the multiple literacy reading, with the internet we can get videos, poems, blogs, 500 year old sources, news station editorials and use all that knowledge and realize their limitations. Or you could just click on the first link that pops up on your google search , skim the info, copy and paste what you need. Like all tools, it could be used well or poorly. Id like to think Plato is wrong, I may have 50+ bookmarks that relate to my teaching, but that just helps me organize my thoughts and resources, Im still capable of building knowledge and new ideas on my own.

Good work Chris,

Make sure you embed the YouTube video on your website to ensure that kids can reach it.

Badge awarded.
