Here is a blog post about collaborative online learning using google docs. It is a very basic tool, and would probably be the easiest for pre-service teachers to implement. As with all of these tools, successful usage depends less upon knowing the in-and-outs of the tool and more upon the frame of mind you bring to it. Tools change, but a proper mindset will allow you transcend the minor differences in how things work.

Good work. I like the use of Draftback to track student work. 

The challenge for me is trying to figure out how to assess the final student work process and product.
