It has been awhile, but my Module 3 posts about Online Reading Comprehension is complete!

Here you can find my Storify post with links used from both class and outside sources that discuss strategies to bring to the classroom. My lesson plan was designed for 9th grades as a introductory lesson before a unit on researching topics for a paper, but it can be tailored to any grade level depending on student needs. In the lesson, students will learn key ways to identify credible sources from sources to strengthen their research. They will complete a series of practice activities including a website checklist to determine if sources they found for their research topics are credible or not.

Also, my website got a makeover!! Take a look at the modern and sleek templates I used to make my website more professional!

Great work Meghan.

I like the overhaul of the website to clean it up. This will be a continual process...but a valuable one. You need to keep plugging away so you can keep "ownership" of your space.

Good work on the lesson plan. I usually don't agree with the use of a checklist approach, but I think it's a good starting point to have students start thinking about aspects of credibility and relevance in their work. Please be sure to build in a lot of student & group dialogue. Also, make sure you allow them to blog/reflect along the process. I focus on building up a student's "healthy skepticism" as they read online.
