https://tewiggins.wordpress.com/sample-unit-khmer-rouge/lesson-one/And something I would add as a fun element of collaborative learning, for use in nearly any unit, would be having students create a KaHoot! quiz on selected sections of the content knowledge. For example, in the Khmer Rouge lesson above, each group would create a small, 5 or 6 question quiz in Kahoot, and the next day, we could take turns having students lead the class while everyone took each other's quiz to refresh and review the content. It is interactive, shows deeper understanding in group's selections of quiz item detractors and question creation, and uses technology in a fun, educational way. I tried using it in my internship, and the most disruptive students would be hyper focused while making a quiz and extremely proud of their creation. Having those feelings to promote a collaborative exercise using technology is something I would foster early on in the school year. And also fun. Fun is best. Thanks!
