Here is a link to my Collaborative Project based on The Great Gatsby.
Within this module, I designed a collaborative project using Twitter that students will use in a literature circles format. Once students are assigned into groups of 5, they are each assigned a character from the novel. In this case, the characters were Jay Gatsby, Jordan Baker, Daisy Buchanan, Tom Bucanan, and Nick Carraway. Each person in the group has to create a Twitter for the character that they are assigned. As the students read the assigned readings, they are expected to tweet to one another, and about one another using similar language that is used within the book. For example, if Gatsby was tweeting to Nick Carraway, he would probably use the phrase "old sport."
Each student needs to collaborate with their groups in order to tweet appropriate events when the reading is due. The tweets are also time stamped - so it is easy to see if someone is falling behind. Together it is the groups mission to stay at the appropriate pace and on task in order to make the tweeting successful.
I have also added other materials (such as how the literature circles meeting format) will work on an "in class" level.
