Dr Harold Heyman z”l, 

Graveside funeral service: Tuesday, May 26, 2026, 

at 11 AM at Shalom Memorial Park, 

1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, IL

Interment to follow.


Obit:

Harold James Heyman, M.D.

 “Jimmy”, 86, passed away peacefully on 
May 20, 2026, in Bettendorf, Iowa. 
He was the beloved husband 
of the late Judith (née Stiefel) for 40 years 
and Barbara (née Biegler) Fox-Heyman 
for 25 years. 
He was the loving father of 
Kurt (Anne Steadman) Heyman, 
Tanya (Scott) Zivin, 
Mark A. (Trudy) Fox, 
and Steven L. Fox. 
Harold was the cherished grandfather of 
Rebecca Heyman, 
Julia Zivin,
Emma Zivin, 
Brandon M. (Kaitlyn) Fox, 
Jacob B. Fox, 
and Kaitlyn E. Fox 
and the adored great-grandfather of 
Asa Fox. 
He was the much-loved brother of the 
late Ruth (the late Norman) Ritter 
and a treasured uncle, great-uncle, 
and friend to many.

“Doc” was raised in the South Shore neighborhood of Chicago and was an alumnus of the University of Illinois Chicago Medical School. He served as a Captain in the United States Air Force, stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War. An extraordinary man, Harold was kind, passionate, thoughtful, and caring. He was an anesthesiologist for many years at Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, where he was greatly admired and loved by colleagues and patients alike. His presence and kindness will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

Graveside service: Tuesday, May 26, 2026, @11AM at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, IL Interment to follow. Rabbi Doug Zelden, officiating
