ORMA Working Poor Caucus

Hello everyone,

Thank you for your interest in a ORMA Working Poor Caucus.

Identity based Caucuses have an impactful role within ORMA. They will be able to elevate and amplify the voices that are often underrepresented and marginalized within large political organizations such as ours.

These caucuses will each be able to elect a member to represent their group in our Representative Council (RC). Giving their members a stronger representation than what currently exists in ORMA today.

The Inclusion committee will be here to support you and your caucus growth in whatever capacity you wish. From helping you schedule, poll and learn about voting tools to just offering an ear to listen, a shoulder to lean on and a big high five of congrats. Email: INCLUSION@ourrevolutionma.com

These google groups have been established to start building connections with interested members.

Guidelines for member participation in the on-line forums:

An active thread advances discussion on a topic. Please allow time for others to respond before posting an additional comment.
Do not repost your same comment multiple times and tag additional people or groups, this is especially frowned upon. Continued disregard for this request, and you will be removed from the group.
If you post an article, please explain why you find it interesting and/or how it relates to Our Revolution Massachusetts, or the task at hand. Do not just “post and drop” a link.

If you want to engage in a more personal discussion with an individual member, please move the discussion off the list. Before hitting the “reply all” button, consider if your comment requires the full attention of the group. Continued disregard or inconsideration of this request, and you will be removed from the group.

It is essential to keep in mind that a post may be disagreeable or disturbing to you but may not be a violation. People use online groups to challenge ideas, institutions, and practices. Discussions can promote debate and greater understanding, but when it produces unnecessary and distracting friction, the violator is placed on moderation. Two such incidents will subject you to the disabling of your account.

Please do not post to a large group if a smaller group of individuals is your target. When responding to a thread, allow others to participate before responding again. PLEASE do not change the subject line, as this causes a new thread and confusion for those following the original thread. If the discussion does change topic, begin a new thread with a new subject line.

We understand that sometimes there is a lot of news in one day and multiple emails are warranted. However, as a matter of practice, we ask that you do not post more than two *new* subjects emails to a google group per day. More than two subject emails over a multiple day period will place you on moderation. Continued disregard for this request, and you will be removed from the group.

The ORMA community expects our members to share and act responsibly when responding to, or commenting on an email, message or post. Attacks or humiliation of an individual are not tolerated and includes (but is not limited to) the judgement of the moderators:

Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, mental illness, physical appearance, body size, age, race, or religion, unwelcome comments regarding a person’s lifestyle choices and practices, including those related to food, health, parenting, drugs, and employment
Threats of violence, incitement of violence towards any individual, including encouraging a person to commit suicide or to engage in self-harm
Deliberate intimidation
Stalking or following
Harassing photography or recording, including logging online activity for harassment purposes
Sustained disruption of discussion
Unwelcome sexual attention
“Flame wars” with other members of the group. Personal attacks may or may not receive a warning before the violator is placed on moderation. Two such incidents will subject you to the disabling of your account.

NOTE: Moderators reserve the right to go beyond what is on the above list on a case by case basis.
