Regarding subscription test series of GyanPoint

I thought to subscribe the GyanPoint test series. Is anybody interested in it ? We can cut down the cost of the course by paying  some contribution. Intersted members please reply ASAP as they have started the sectional tests. It includes 25 gs+25 csat +weekly current affairs +special preparation group membership. To be very frank, the only thing that is of value to me is the GS test series.  CSAT - i hardly worry abt it at this point of time. WCA+SPG -- I am too hardpressed for time to even bother what all is this. Considering the worth, I will pitch in 2K if the idea goes through. Take ur call. :-)

Personally, the GS tests are the only ones which interest me and that too to keep me on my toes.

Yar abhijeet ,have seen the demo q papers..They are fine ok....But how about Gk today/Smart foundation test and materials..they too are good..and almost cost the same...Gk today covers mains also...Better to check them all and take a decision..What say.

Hey, My friend has subscribed to GKToday. They don't send any pdf for tests. As far as GS notes are concerned I can post them here till prelims.

My goodness chaps!!!  Even I have purchased GKToday... if anyone shares its fine or i will do (but dont ask doubts from it, I just bought for the test series :-P, also they r bulky)

Wish I had bought Smart-Foundation instead of this...We could have got that also. Anyways, I doubt anyone has. It aint that popular.

Still just for info....GKtoday expires after prelims and for mains its 2k extra charge. While Smart-foundation was till mains for 10k.

@everyone: As far as quality n informed decision is concerned..."bandar kya jaane adrak ka swaad"...To me everything is good. lolzzz....Still, If I have to say something, well the conventional GS be better done from elsewhere, they seem to be heavily focusing on even not so important things(atleast a guy like me with lil time can not read....rather should not read them.) But their current materials seem to be very good. They do economics especially in very nice way-- industry wise.

If anybody gets hold of Smart-foundation, they can tell. I dont have any circle here.

@Everyone: I will share the GKToday material. What I get is a conventional module every 3-4 days(arnd 20-30 pages) and a current affairs module every 10 days. 

So far, polity is over...economy almost done. The given plan is everything conventional gets over by Feb end. and a test series with 15 GS tests happens from March to mid April. What I will do is I will combine all broken modules into one book and then will send. It would be easier for u guys.Expect everything to reach you by day after tomorrow. Then will keep sending the broken modules as n when I get them. One mock test has also happened.(I didnt give, I am yet to start studying to be very honest).

If anybody gives the tests under real environment... I can tell u ur rank for the tests. As we can see the result on the forum with evrybody's scores.

P.S. - I have a few qsns to ask... will create separate topic.

 1. after test is over they send pdf in a day i will forward it to all of you

Only once a test can be given  but after tht there is an option to download the q paper and it has answers also...u can check tis with th demo test but don't open any other test if ur not sure of giving....

I gave the first CSAT test. Didnt complete but it is available for download... I would like to say a few things..

1. There were no decision making qsns

2. Passage seems simple.(too many qsns on a single passage)

3. All same type of qsns are sequentially arranged.

4. Grammatical and data misprint ...saala neend aa rhi thi aur dimaag kharaab kar rhe the...lolzzz.

All in all, though i did only 37(bloody hell...still got 5 wrong) and didnt see many qsns but I feel there is a lot to be desired... anyone else just take a better look and inform.

His approach is good. However since the file is restricted so we can't edit it. I mean if i am reading i would like to highlight certain points or delete few things that i dont find useful. So in order to revise his notes i will have to again read the whole thing. That is a big problem. I feel his emphasis is a bit less on economy section. Ask them can he give material on environment static part. Can he explain all the economy concepts in layman term as done in Mrunal's blog ?

Game : I have GK today material. I have already told this. I am going thru their environment section and its good. I was looking for other sources too since i don't want to depend only upon GK today material.

Here is the feedback:-

1. Mock test questions should not have grammatical/data errors.

2. Cover economics and environment a little more.

3. TLB approach is good.

4. In CSAT paper, i dont know.. but qsns seem easy and atleast jumble them up instead all similar qsns sequential.

Are they covering IE/PIB , I am not very sure.

@Game -- you can download only CSAT-1 as only this one has been attempted so far.(already sent the demo tests)

If you guys want to have a little fun while doing CSAT, why don't we setup a common time slot, where everyone solves at the same time and posts the his/her answers at the same time. A little competition will help induce the much needed pressure of time which can help simulate exam conditions. After all, CSAT is more about time management that it is about application of brain in solving the questions.

Abhijeet, template idea is good, but somebody needs to populate the questions or write code to do that from a given pdf file, and I don't think we should bother about that right now.

Easier thing to do is have a common pdf, set time slots and everyone posts their responses which can be centrally tallied and here is where we can use the google docs, I guess I am seeing your pt now :)

Preferably set this up in the nights (not more than one test on any day) or have both papers on a given weekend.

But data entry will take a lot of time. Why don't we have it this way. Get the pdf of the question paper. Someone upload it on google docs. In onenote everyone just has a tab where they marks their answers. Give the link to the doc when time commences. When time ends, sync your onenote. Everyone can check themselves.
