Try to us ms 2010 as soon as possible...coz anything edited in one note thrgh 2007 will not sync properly as the one note shared was itself  created in ms2010...it wld be better if everyone has ms 2010 and then the work ll be seamless........

Agree tht   neat arrangement of notes is very essential,or the total work ll have show no result...My point is let us allocate one or two people only to keep the notes segregation..they wll just copy th notes from our section and paste them under respective topics....this ll make it easier for all to revise....ms one note give us a good option to search,like u search for the word aadhar on the top and u get the exact location of tht word previously used in notes,so the new notes is added to the old news easily and thus evertything ll b arranged neatly...

The oly  idea is onenote should be very neat and compact to read..

The problem in the 1st idea is we cant hold anyone accountable of whether someone has submitted something....

Created a new section, Gambit's section in onenote. I will post my articles in relevant sections, but in that page, i will keep a contents of all the articles i posted, will post and where i posted. I suggest everyone follow this method if it is not too much of a niggle.

yaar bahut der se dimaag khapa rha tha... ab samajh mein aya...my Onenote is not at all activated (thats why my copy was read-only ...lolzzz).

I have tried with keys online, one is accepted but still doesnt unlock. If anyone can give a key(by keygen). Or I am downloading my own keygen, but net is damn slow.

What do you mean by personal use? You mean to say offline use? If so, it is automatically saved in the cache.

And if you do want to save, just right click the notebook and save as. You can save in onenote format or pdf format, among others.

@Jason --  as soon as Gambit makes community membership "public" from "moderated". I will post in the parent community. We will have an influx of around may be 20-30 ppl(conservative estimate)...expect 4-5 of them to stay.

@all -- though I am not able to do much.. but looking at the issues.. is OneNote really the best alternative?
anyways my issue is even after activating onenote 2010 , still all the files are read-only. when I sync sometimes Abhijeet's section n sometimes "work allocation for all" dont sync up.

@Abhijeet -- when the amount gets credited in ur account,plz let me know.(strangely, I havent got any confirmation mail, it doesnt take that long.)

both are 32-bit ones... any ideas. what should i try.. coz i really dont want to dig deep. I have the other option of reinstalling office instead of upgrading.

About onenote, i found it better than posting daily summaries here as things are more organized. The individual sections thing is much better, IMO.

Yes, there is a problem with syncing. I feel the problem is in abheejit. Two sections are having a problem, Work allocation tab and abhijeet'e section. In the work allocation tab, abhijeet posted, so maybe that why there is a problem with it. As to what is the problem, i do not know.

Anyway, the read only thing has been fixed today. Try now. Is there any problem with my section?

IMO one note rocks! even if it doesn't sync sometimes.but it's the best alternative that we have. regarding the issues being covered, it'll depend on our news coverage and understanding. we cannot just post things without understanding. hence articles are less in no. this problem would be solved 'if' we manage to increase our workforce :D

Basically people should see what we want them to see -- a win-win situation, where people work closely -- then only they will sustain. As of now we already have 16 new people, but only 3 have posted in the thread. The the other 13 are there who rarely engage in the parent community. The only communication we can have with them is through what we upload.whenever we  post something in our community I am sure atleast18-20 ppl read it. But noone ever comes forward or even shows their presence. 
Curiosity brought them here, Bait(our uploads) should trigger "I am in" phenomena, But only their commitment will retain them. And they will commit only when they see value(aka input vs output) in their favour.

Is it possible to give topics instead of resources? as everybody reads Hindu. We can divide topics so one can explore it using other neaspapers/magazines. Then swap the topics after one week or 15 days.

I again put forward my point here....Its necessary to allocate someone (one or two or many) to do this refining job..to bring all of the notes  together and make it an easy read for all...

And As i have already said just inviting members to the community wont do any good for this notes sharing group,so the msg shld   be  made clear tht if u want to join this community thn tht implies ur interseted in notes sharing..somehow tht point was missed and we see lots of people joining the community but not coming forth for notes sharing...this point must be made clear and another msg in the parent  community for notes sharing be started.....

@everyone: a repost on the parent community does not make as much sense as a post in our community now ,clearing air about the purpose.(though it was specified by Gambit in parent community, n me in our community.)

@Gambit -- by choosing the people through community itself, what exactly u mean? google docs sharing like we were doing earlier?

Can u make it a bit clearer as I m not able to comprehend how exactly r we going to test new people.

My personal opinion was just a new google group(for test purposes) wherein the division of work is done according to new list of members. And we post the link of the googlegroup in our community, so that those who want will join. After that we start posting and only good ones survive, while we remove the non-contributing ones.

We can post a message something like -- "here is the google group link, please post ur preferred topic in this very thread and join the group so that we can start work at the earliest." 

We have 7 new ppl in the thread. -- 

 Bharat Vaishnov, Dayanandu Loganathan(interesting name),Sherlock, Kuldeep,Munnabhai,Vijay,Rahul.  Even if 4 stay in the long run, the group gets bigger.

Here are few things we need to understand and also to make clear to them -- 

1. We will give them what they want for ex-- pib to sherlock, hindu divide bw Vijay n rahul etc. 

2. In return we will ask them to deliberately reduce workload on themselves. Ex- "up for Hindu" is a punchline... to be honest one person(being ambitious) says this but we know only one person cant do justice to whole paper. Of course he/she will miss out. 

We can make announcement that once you people join group, we will post excel sheet allocating work. and that would be final. It wont be much load but all of u are expected to be regular.

This is the solution i see to this problem of integration of notes.

We allocate daily newspapers to all the new entrants.

Now the job for the six of us will be to work on big issues and do this "refining job", as maverik put it. It would be easier for us as we have onenote. We can publish onenote once a week in pdf and share with the remaining people?

One thing i would like to say, don't give the link to this community or the onenote without posting here first. Plus, change the setting of onenote, if there is any, so as to allow only us. The problem with it being public, as i assume it is now, is that anyone can come and delete everything!

i'm not in favor of including the new players here. coz again this'll become like the community. no serious interaction. let them join a new google group. we'll make sure we post there regularly, so as not to isolate them

those people can submit their docs. and their respective sections can be updated by any one of us. i dun want another sync problem on their entry.

Someone please allot them the work asap! They all are up for different source so just divide the work and better create a separate google group for them and add us too. And for the time being apart from one note we will be posting there  too. If we delay they will leave.
