Dear All,

Green Smart campaign is our new initiative. Its an open and informal platform for children and youth to express their views on water, environment and climate change. Through this we will try to promote ecological value and ethics in their day to day life and activities. Actually, I got inspired by the Green Hero Award and through this I want to promote several Green Heroes. Thanks NDTV.

This picture is from the first ever function organised by us under the Green Smart campaign. The youth you see here are path maker volunteers supported by Sambalpur based voluntary organisation Patang in Burla town. Patang's Youth Resource Center in Burla collaborated in this event where we motivated thechildren and youth to be Green Smart! We got tremendous response.

You have been doing a great job in educating our citizens about water and environment.
Thought to share the following with such a green warrior.

They are picking up our waste once in a week - we pay around $100 per month to the city for

• water consumption
  
• trash pick up
• security alarm

The city pays the trash pick up bill.
They provide us two bins - one for perishable items and other for recyclable items.

We need to educate our Government/Municipality/Corporations and Citizens to separate the perishable and recyclable items and process the waste as per the standards set by developed countries.
