Couple of months ago when there was some discussion on Bande Utkala Janani in this forum, I commented that original title of this great piece of poetry by Laxmikanta Babu was Bande Janani based on an article by Sri Asit Mohany. Some in this forum expressed doubt.I had hard time to retrieve the article from archive of Sambad to prove my point.However,Asit Babu was gracious enough to send his article on this topic,which as you will see confirms what I wrote. This is a very well researched piece of writing,typical of Asit Babu’s excellent journalistic skills. Enjoy reading.
