PRESS RELEASE

Today i.e on 06.04.2024 at about 8:10AM a fire was reported in conveyor belt 15 A&15 Balong with at coaltransfer point (TP) 16 located between Unit 2 and Unit 3. The fire callwas quickly responded by the CISF Fire Wing and Plant Disaster Team . The fire has been doused fully. No person has received any injury apart from minor first aid to 1 CISF personnel during fire fighting. As aprecautionary measure Unit 3 of 500 MW was taken under shutdownfor brief time to contain the fire however the same will be brought onbar shortly. Allother units are normal. The root cause of fire and damage is being assessecd and necessary repairwork will be started soon. We appreciate the timely help received from all quarters of State and District Administration including Police and Fire, and also thank all nearby industries for extending timely support.
