Want to help in creating community for www.orissait.org

Hi All,
I am subhransu sekhar mahapatra, Director (Technology) Pietas software
labs and consultancy Pvt. Ltd (http://ietaslabs.com). I came to know
about this group from Mr.Sanjay Patel and this is a great effort to
bring all the IT professional from Odisha to a common knowledge
sharing platform. I came to know Mr. Lalit patel is working on a
portal for "www.orissait.org". We can work together to bring it into
shape. Looking forward for feedback.

Hi Subhransu,

Welcome to the group. Thanks for the initiative!

Sometime back Lalit had initiated a nice Drupal site but we could not
give it enough effort. Hence we fell back to this google group again.
If you can spare time and server resources for a good website, it
would be of great help. But as discussed, I would suggest the
discussion forum can still be at google till we are quite comfortable
with the new site.

To the Group Guys - I have met Subhransu personally. His core business
involves CMS a lot. He has considerable expertise on Drupal and making
portals like this.

Lalit - will you comment on the next steps for orissait.org - now with
Subhransu on board ...

Hi All;

Subranshu, Subrat, welcome to the group.

We had started Orissa IT as a portal for discussion and idea sharing. But since very less number of people were using it as compared to the mailing list (i think for ease of access) there was a conflict between both the medium. So me and Sanjay decided to suspend the forum for the benefit of the mailing list as more people were comfortable using the mailing list.

Ideally I had thought that there should be a some information on the website for annoucements and then there should be forum which would replace the mailing list where people can post by email/reply by email and also browse archives. But I was unable to setup Drupal in that way.

We are open to all ideas and suggestions. Its nice to see people volunteering to take up charge.
