Hi,
At the moment we're supporting 3 ways of pull requests at the moment.
The first being a request through Github (which is typically horribly
formatted), the output of git request-pull in an E-mail and thirdly a
git-patch in an E-mail.
This creates a mess, and to solve that I'm proposing the following.
People send their pull-request through E-mail, either directly at the
maintainers or at
orio...@googlegroups.com.
This E-mail contains the following elements:
1. A description in plain English of why we need to pull
2. Something that contains all the output of git request-pull
3. The commit to pull must be signed of by the author to state that the
work pointed to by that commit is all obtained legally and actually is
licensed under a compatible licence to the kernel code (such as GPL).
A sign of is nothing more than a bit of text at the bottom of the commit
message stating "Signed-off-by: Your Name <
yo...@email.com>"
What do you all think of this proposal?
