A reminder of next week’s talk at Origins Centre: ‘Discovery of a new
and pristine cave system, North West Botswana’.
Gavin Selfe and Roger Ellis will present an informal and entertaining
lecture on two large scale surveys for buried caverns in the remote
Drotsky’s (Gcwihaba) and Koanaka cave areas of Botswana. The project
aims to develop a new national park in which the caves will play a
major role. Currently known as the Gcwihaba Caves Project, the park
has been cited for World Heritage status and will add to Botswana’s
diverse list of tourist attractions.
The talk is co-hosted by the Geological Society of South Africa.
