Hi everyone

So your story features a battle of epic proportions, and you need to film in the freezing Arctic but you don't like the cold.  Ever considered radio?

With radio you play with people's imaginations, building amazing landscapes in their minds.  It is great fun.

If you have never experienced the magic of radio production, then take a look at the email below.  It is from one of our members, Nicholas Russell-Pavier,  who is running a series of workshops this Summer.

Best wishes

Rupert

Subject: Writing for radio

Hi Rupert

Do you think anyone in our group would be interested in a writing for radio workshop? I've done similar things at the BBC and at Channel 4 Radio and they have been really popular and good fun.

Below are some links relating to some workshops I'm planning to run from my studio in Soho sometime over the summer. I haven't set any dates yet until I get a reasonable number of people interested and available at the same time. It will probably be July sometime and could be anything from one to three days depending how far people want to get into it.

Anyway if you think it would be of interest please do ask people to get in touch either through this email

or

Hope things are going well with you

Best regards

Nicholas

Writing for Radio

SUMMER 2008: LONDON - DATES NOT YET FIXED
Writing for Radio Summer Workshops for Writers
Radio offers excellent opportunities for both new writers and writers who have not previously written for radio. Radio commissions a significant number of drama scripts each year; there is also the BBC’s Writers' Room and Radio 4’s National Short Story Award.

Nicholas Russell-Pavier is planning a set of workshops specifically geared to writing for radio.
There will be a chance to meet established writers, directors and work in the studio. The workshop will provide insight and guidance on writing drama scripts for radio as well as the production and recording process. Nicholas is a writer and freelance producer. He and his colleagues have been making award winning programmes for BBC Radio for over 20 years.
For further information about cost, dates and what the course involves please don't hesitate to contact Nicholas:
