Very exciting that Krissy is running for Congress…  I don't know if Krissy sent her announcement to everyone individually, so I am posting a copy of this to the CCB listserv (I sent this to several dozen friends and family).  Hope everyone had a great spring, and wishing all a wonderful summer. Best wishes to everyone, always -   Scott

First, an apology if you consider this spam: if so, a reply with "Take a hike" will insure you never again receive anything of this nature.

To my friends in the San Francisco area; to friends and family who might know someone in the San Francisco area that you might forward this to; and, to any others who are inclined to offer support of any kind...

Krissy Keefer is a brilliant, ferociously talented alumna of the original Columbia City Ballet.  She is running for the United States House of Representatives in San Francisco, California.  Director of the DanceBrigade (voted Best Dance Company 2006 by San Francisco Weekly) and the Dance Mission Theatre, Krissy has been a successful social, political and artistic activist for over thirty-five years.  Her impressive biography is online at Krissy Keefer Bio.

Krissy: I wish you all the best.  I wish I lived in San Francisco, and could do more.

Warmest regards, all –

It is Pride Week and we are off and running. I look forward to the weekend events and will be campaigning all over town. I will be leafleting at the Dyke March and collecting donations: over 50,000 women participate; it is the largest gathering of women in the world.  Don’t miss the personal invitation from Jeff Jones to the Proud Krissy Fundraiser, and the performance notice at the bottom: please join us.

Come help: join us spreading the messages of the campaign:

Impeach Bush                                    Get the Troops home now

Stop Global Warming                       Support Gay Marriage

If you’re a believer: Get Involved!

Jeff Jones Invitation (My dear friend Jeff Jones is hosting this party):

I am writing to invite you to a reception/fundraiser I am hosting for Krissy Keefer's Congressional campaign on Sunday during the Pride Parade.  This event will take place at the Luggage Store Gallery at 1007 Market Street (near 6th Street on the south side of Market) from 10:30 to 2:30. Admission is $5 to $15 (more if you are inclined).  Because the Luggage Store is located on the building's top floor, it offers a fantastic vantage point to see the Parade passing by below.  So drop by for a few minutes or a few hours, have a bagel and some wine or champagne.

Please feel free to invite everyone you know to this event and encourage them to support Krissy's campaign.  Krissy is running against Nancy Pelosi.  Nancy

        Does not support impeaching Bush

Has never voted against funding the war in Iraq, and

Is silent on the same-sex marriage issue.

In general, Nancy does not support the views of the constituents she claims to represent.

This event will not feel like a political fundraiser: there will be no pressure to donate nor will the candidate deliver lengthy speeches.  It will be a great opportunity to informally connect with many progressive artists and political activists on Pride Day.

See ya there –

                        Jeff
