Hi everyone,

We usually have a meeting every other week, but the meeting this week
is postponed to next Tuesday at 9:10pm in AC Pit.
Next week, we will learn how to trisect an arbitrary angle (which
compass and straight edge cannot achieve) and fold a modular origami
model.

See you there!

Hey! All of the sophs have LEAD on Tuesday until 9:30, so unless LEAD is
cancelled we can't make the meeting.

Just as a point of note, a lot goes on Wed nights. Robotics are at
7:30-9:00(forcing soph's to already move study hours). ACA might be at 9.
Go club is at 9. While the demographics don't really overlap (and
considering ACA and Go Club are so small) It's Not really a big problem,
but I wont be able to make it.

We understand there are always multiple things going on at the same time, but we don't have many options since sophomores have study hours and Lead,  juniors have Ethics, and Thursday night is usually not the best time to have meeting.
If any of you have similar trouble making the meeting, get someone for an update or read the minutes afterward. Of course, nothing it better than physically be at the meeting because that's how most information get across. But you can still be an active member of the club by checking the google group, posting/upload things on the google group, or simply folding paper in your free time.
We are all busy, and we try not to have too many meetings.

Thank you for letting me know.

Santina, just so you know, any construction in the entire world can be achieved with only a compass, or a rusty compass and a straightedge. (these have been proven). So yeah. you can trisect an angle with a compass and a straightedge.

...
sorry.

NO WAY! I don't believe you unless you show us how to do that in the meeting.

Btw, it is even more impossible to quintesect (divide an angle into fifths, see the pdf on g group) using only a rusty compass and a wooden straightedge. Fortunately, origami can solve it because it's awesome.

Matt. If you use a ruler, then yes, you can trisect an angle, but a ruler is not a straight-edge. It is mathematically proven that constructing a trisected angle is impossible. Look it up.

According to Dr. Keyton, any construction is possible with a compass and a straight edge.

Show me a construction and prove it works... There are somethings you cannot construct.
