Confident that Pessimistic Locking will be released with 2.2?

My system is write-heavy and I would really benefit from automatic pessimistic locking within transactions.

According to GitHub, the feature should be ready with 2.2

However the feature has been postponed a few times in the past. How confident are you that it will be released with 2.2 ?
