Yousync them through iTunes. If they were not purchased from the ITunes store then you may need to convert them and make sure they are compatible. You can also view movies/video through apps like Netflix, Youtube, various TV apps etc
If you have synced the movies with iTunes to your iPhone ... open the app Movies (hope this is the right translation because I run a german system) on your iPhone. If the sync hasn't worked, then you get a message from iTunes.
Okay, maybe I'm way dense, but I can't find a video app. I downloaded one that says Music Videos, but I don't think it's what I need. When I click on the itunes icon, it doesn't give me a video or movies choice in the "more" section.
Hi, I have iphone 12 with IOS 16.1.1, (although the problems has been with me for many IOs's). I have backed up the phone on OS Catalina, through the finder. There are movies under the 'Films' tab, which are checked, but I cannot find them on the phone, I have looked in Apple TV, itunes, podcasts, photos, docs, slides, files... I give up, why's it so difficult to find them?
Thanks Manjor, if you see my original post and screen shot, that is exactly the problem already explained. The files are in the list to be transfered to the phone, but they are not being transferred, a search does not find them.
Wondering why videos won't play on your iPhone? Chances are that your device doesn't support the file format of the video you want to watch. By default, your iPhone works only with .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats for videos. But if you've just downloaded a video from the web, it's likely saved in either .avi or .mkv. The built-in apps like Photos and Files just won't play such a video.
Now, you don't need to worry that videos won't play on your iPhone. With Documents, you can watch videos in numerous formats and even play .avi and .mkv on your iPhone. The app also has a built-in browser so you can download your favorite movies from the web.
