Pathfinder Games has launched a Kickstarter campaign for Vanguard: Normandy 1944, which is scheduled to arrive on Early Access on Steam in Q4 2018. Powered by CRYENGINE, Vanguard: Normandy 1944 presents authentically recreated battlefields from World War II, where players will experience the intensity of close-quarters firefights in an online multiplayer shooter which rewards teamwork and tactics.
Vanguard: Normandy 1944 will deliver infantry combat gameplay where a single bullet can kill and a careless mistake can cost the player and their squad everything. Gamers are given the freedom to complete objectives how they see fit as they take on missions where every life matters and survival is critical to success. Gamers can choose to storm the Normandy coast as the revered British Commandos, take and hold crucial objectives as the elite 6th Airborne, or hold the line as the German Wehrmacht.
Pathfinder Games has developed Vanguard: Normandy 1944 in conjunction with historians who have advised on everything from locations to weapons and uniforms. Players will take on some of the same challenges that were faced during D-Day in an authentic experience which honors, rather than glorifies, the events of World War II.
Set during the Allied invasion of Europe, players can choose to storm the Normandy coast as the British Commandos, play as the elite 6th Airborne, or attempt to hold back the assault in the ranks of the German Wehrmacht. Vanguard: Normandy 1944 presents a hardcore infantry combat experience where a single bullet can kill, and a careless mistake can cost both the player and their squad everything. The game has been developed in conjunction with historians to recreate authentic battlefields, weapons, and uniforms.

We spoke to Tom Dudley from developer Pathfinder Games to discover the design philosophy behind the game, find out how historians have helped the dev team, and learn why they chose CRYENGINE to achieve their vision.
The team has matured over time as our experience and skills developed, and it has become a huge part of our lives. Over the last couple of years the game has been completely rebuilt with CRYENGINE 5, and the end result is Vanguard: Normandy 1944 which we are incredibly proud to finally show off to the public.
To play Vanguard: Normandy 1944 you will need a minimum CPU equivalent to an AMD Ryzen 3 1200. Whereas, an Intel 1400 is recommended in order to run it. In terms of game file size, you will need at least 12 GB of free disk space available. By contrast, the game developers recommend somewhere around 15 GB of free disk space on your system drive. The minimum memory requirement for Vanguard: Normandy 1944 is 4 GB of RAM installed in your computer. The cheapest graphics card you can play it on is an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti.
