Hi Bertrand, good to hear from you,

Repeated self-replication is definitely a central concept in the
Organic Builder, I hope I've been able to show how easy it can be in
an artificial chemistry. (Although whether the entities in OB are
*self*-replicating or just replicating is debateable.) The only reason
no level tests the ability to produce multiple copies is that this
becomes harder to evaluate - some copies will likely be unfinished,
etc.

I'm thinking about a second version of OB that is aimed at competition
between replicating entities. I think this would be quite interesting.
The rules would have to be specific to each molecule though, which
makes it a very different system. But it would be fun.

If you have improved the code, I'd be happy to host it, for others to
retrieve. I'll keep a track of any changes I make (none for a while).

The log file should be private, I'll check. It is vulnerable to
overload but that wouldn't interfere with someone solving the levels.
I usually turn off logging when testing but it's not a big deal if a
few stray results come in. If necessary we can add a 'testing' flag.

Thanks,

Tim
