I have to submit the final version of the OB paper at the weekend. I
was thinking about changing the URL from my sq3 version to
organicbuilder.sourceforge.net - and of course crediting you for all
your good work on improving the interface of OB. At the same time I
would change my sq3 page to redirect to the sourceforge page.
Does this sound like a sensible thing to do, or do you prefer that the
sourceforge version stays as beta for the moment? I see that the
applets/JWS/application executables aren't hosted at sourceforge but
elsewhere (box.net?), so I'm not sure if we should point everyone to
that version, in case the allowed bandwidth gets exceeded? I'm happy
to host the applet/JWS/application on sq3 and pay for any extra
bandwidth that might be required - so up to you really, please tell me
which you prefer.
Thanks!
Tim
A suggestion :
* You keep the http://www.sq3.org.uk/Evolution/Squirm3/ page and here
change the 'organic builder' link to http://organicbuilder.sourceforge.net/.
* The text on the page with the original applet should be removed and
the applet centered. (see http://organicbuilder.sourceforge.net/applet
html source).
* The sourceforge's page links to the stable and beta versions. I
guess a note should be written explaining how a user should choose a
version. (ie the development version should not have any bug as far
as I know but being a work in progres some might (will) 'pop up' one
day. )
Sourceforge provides a release system with mirrors and so the web
space shouldn't be used to download heavy files. That is why I did use
box.net, online storage, which automatically counts downloads. Due to
the fact that the domain of the log file should be the download's
domain, this solution have to be avoided if we want to log solutions.
The archive weights about 200kB, a few MB/hour shouldn't be a problem
for sourceforge. (eg yacas project)
