The Rockbridge Area Relief Association runs a food pantry. Sometimes
they have out of date or spoiled food that could be composted. See

Hunters for the Hungry accept donations of game meat and have it
processed before contributing it to food banks and other charitable

The Campus Kitchen at W&L is a hunger relief and leadership
development project. They accept food from various local sources and
prepare meals that are served in partnership with fifteen community
agencies. The food they are unable to serve is composted. See
