Iwould do a general exclusion first (put the hub in exclusion and turn the switch on/ off). Then when you try to include it go to the GE section and select GE on off switch. I have about 30 of them and some are stubborn. Good luck!
I just installed three of these last week and none were just discovered with the broad discover devices tool without help. I had to actually add a specific GE switch under the lighting section and when narrowed down to the type of GE switch and then it was discovered. All three working great.
In the end I wound up putting my old Securifi A+ hub into general exclusion, popping the air gap and pressing on/ off/ /on a few times. Then having ST search for it. After about the third or fourth try it finally connected. I am pretty sure my neighbors to the back were less than thrilled I was flashing the back spot lights on/off from 11:45pm- 1:20 am trying to get it reincluded.
As it turns out I had to move the SmartHub to my wifi extender that is upstairs. I guess 25 feet away is too far a way for it to connect. When it was moved to 10 feet away it connected right away. My house is not that large (1950 sqft), what do you guys do if you have a large house?
i have a problem when i setup a new samsung device. i have approved the app "samsung smart switch" in the managed google play account - and send it also back to google. the problem is - there is still a error message when i will start the "samsung smart switch" app - it tells me, that a compliance error - but i dont know how can fix it. there was a discussion 10 months ago - but this doesnt work for me - still the problem.
First, make sure the Smart Switch app is installed on both phones, and plug them into their chargers. When you're ready, place the phones within 4 inches of each other. Launch Smart Switch on both phones. Tap Send data on the old phone, tap Receive data on the new phone, and then tap Wireless on both phones.
I recently installed a Wyze Cam Floodlight to replace an existing flood light that was on a standard light switch inside the house. Afterwards I installed a Wyze Smart Switch as to keep the kiddos from turning off the power to the floodlight. In trying to setup the switch for smart control I wanted to just single press to toggle the flood lights on/off without cutting off the power to the whole device. Is this possible? I was able to get the double tap and triple tap to turn on and turn off respectively but this is not going to be user friendly for most people.
I have installed the wyze flood and wyze switch as well. Would love to be able to program the single tap feature to turn on the flood lights. I currently have that programmed as a double press function. I hope someone from Wyze is reading this thread!
I have tried repeatedly to use the rules and everything looks correct but the floodlight does not turn on. I would hope that someone from wyze support could escalate this as a potential bug in the app/rules.
I have a portable audio recording system that uses a Dante network on a Netgear GS310TP Smart Switch. I occasionally need to interface this system to an existing Dante network to get what is essentially a Dante audio split from an existing "House" audio system. The last time this happened was at a local theater and according to the house engineer he couldn't connect to my existing network because I was using a "Smart" switch, so we had to tear my system apart and use 3 separate CAT6 cables to put all of my gear directly on his network for it to work. This solution was obviously not ideal.
He mentioned that if my switch was "Dumb" he would have been able to just plug my switch into his network and everything would work on my system like normal. Is that the correct method of doing this and if so what needs to be changed on my switch to make it "Dumb" and enable me to just connect my system to his without tearing it apart?
Reads like a blunt nonsense. Specifically because there is zero information on the intended or suggested config change affected beyond of having -three- connections (unexpected loop conditions are predictable). An odd workaround for what should be some IGMP multicast enabling for a certain VLAN.
One of the big benefits of the Diva's for me was that I could still use mechanical switches and not have to purchase a bunch of accessory switches or Pico's since I have a ton of 3-way and even a 5-way switch setups.
The only reason I would really consider buying an accessory switch is if it had a dimmer, which these do not. But even so we rarely touch the dimmers since I have setup automations so that we do not really need to anymore.
The 3 way mechanical switch position depends on the last time it was used. If it is in the on position and the switch is off then putting it in to the off position would turn on the switch and visa versa. The accessory switch is always in the center position so people understand it better when using it.
Yeah it may not work in all cases as there any multiple ways to wire a multi-switch setup. I put the Diva in the box with the load to the light and capped off one of the two traveler wires, since only 1 is needed with the Diva and it worked.
I reckon it could be tricky because the bulb would be powered off when the light is off, and the bulb would only be powered on after someone presses the switch on the wall. So I guess maybe it depends how long it takes for the bulb firmware to start up before it can receive a command from Home Assistant? Is it possible? Has anyone done it?

Also, it is possible to do zigbee binding so that when your HA or wifi is down, the bound pairs would/should still work.
Binding Zigbee2MQTT (hmm, looks like there are limitations with hue - older hue firmware were OK though.)

A month ago, I used Smart Switch to transfer data from my old S7 to my new A54. For a reason I now regret (old habits die hard), I continued to use my old S7. As a result, there are now text & multimedia messages and phone call logs for the past month that are obviously missing on my new A54.
If I use Smart Switch again (in order to get those missing text & multimedia messages and phone logs onto my A54), is there a chance that I'll wind up with a lot of duplicate messages and phone logs on my A54? That is, will Smart Switch transfer ALL the messages and phone logs or will it just transfer the messages and phone logs that occurred after I used Smart Switch a month ago?
I did see the following statement online: "Please note: Even if the same data is transmitted multiple times, duplicate data is skipped during the data transmission process." ( -services/what-are-the-data-transfer-options-in-smart-swi...)
This would suggest to me that only the messages and phone logs from the past month will be transferred to my A54. I am not terribly tech savvy and would appreciate feedback indicating whether my understanding is correct, or not. (I really don't want a mess of duplicate texts and phone logs on my new A54.)
Bring smart control to undercabinet, track lights, accents lighting and more. This dimmer complements the aesthetics of other paddle style dimmers in the home. It works with nearly all residential lighting types and loads including: ELV, LED, MLV, Incandescent, Halogen.
A month and a half ago, I purchased my first iPhone. I've been an Android user my entire life, and I've had the same 200GB microSD card for around ten years. Any time I changed to a new phone, I would simply pop in the same SD card. I knew going in that iPhones don't have expandable storage, but I've been hitting a brick wall trying to transfer my text messages and apparently so has everyone else. The folks at the Genius Bar, Best Buy, Samsung Telephone Support, Apple Online Support, AT&T support... 'Move to iOS' didn't work... I have what I think might be 'OTG' cables but when I connect the phones nothing happens. I caved and bought one of those paid phone switch programs: still didn't work. Finally I was able to get everything backed up to my Mac using SmartSwitch, but has anyone been able to move data from a SmartSwitch backup to an iPhone? Thanks!
Here's what gets transferred: contacts, message history, camera photos and videos, web bookmarks, mail accounts, and calendars. If they're available on both Google Play and the App Store, some of your free apps will also transfer. After the transfer completes, you can download any free apps that were matched from the App Store.
Hi! Thank you so much for your reply, but I already tried 'Move to iOS'. It didn't work for me. At first I thought it was me and I was doing something wrong, which is why I went over to the Apple store for help. 3 hours later, they weren't able to get it to work either. They said the feature is being phased out, but I'm not sure if that's actually true or they were as frustrated as I was...
I've just downloaded it and this is nifty! I wish I'd known about this back when I had an Android; I prefer it to the default Samsung app. Now I just need to figure out how to move these texts over from this app; I can't use Move to iOS because my phone has been set up and that only appears when the phone is in setup mode. Hopefully this will cooperate with me.
I worked with one smart switch at work, and lots of managed so far the only thing I noticed was the smart switch usually have a webUI of some sort. The managed ones are usually more like the Cisco, etc whee you use a serial console, or telnet, etc to manage them with a CLI.
Granted what it takes to work with these is a good bit different, but to me I would call them both managed. I hear something like smart switch I think automatic like it would rely on some sort of auto config process that things like trunks just trunk if the other end allows, and automatically recognizes and adds VLANs, etc.
