A new essay about Burma's Cyclone Nargis aftermath by Project Maje
director Edith Mirante (author of "Burmese Looking Glass" and "Down
the Rat Hole") has been published by Guernica Magazine, an online
journal of politics and culture.

"The Ruby Ape: A Deadly Storm and a Lethal Regime" includes the
Burmese political context, petroleum multinationals, the Irish Potato
Famine, disaster photography, Bernard Kouchner, Aung San Suu Kyi, and
Oscar Wilde's mother.
