For those who would like to show their support and solidarity with the monks now protesting in Tibet and the surrounding region, here is some info on events going on in Portland. 

Every evening from 4pm to 8pm, there is a group demonstrating downtown - on the corner across from Pioneer Courthouse Square in front of Nordstrom's. 

On Wednesday, April 9th, they will be staging a day - long hunger strike at the same location (or possibly inside the square - I'm not sure). The olympic torch is passing through San Francisco on Wednesday.

Thank you very much for your concern and we really appreciate your pouring in of support.

 

Yes, we been holding vigils, petition signing and holding banners at pioneer courthouse every evening from 4.pm to 8pm weekdays and we are holding a day  long hunger strike at pioneer courthouse on Wednesday 9th April the day when the olympic torch runs in Sanfrancisco. Quite a lot of Tibetans are going down to Sanfrancisco to protest the torch and the ones who couldn't make it down are coming at the pioneer courthouse. During our last hungerstrike that was on 30th march when the torch was lit in Anthens Greece, some Burmese students came to show their support.
