Faces of IRCO: Burma
Curious to know more about why Burmese people are being relocated to Portland?
As a part of our continuing series of cultural workshops exploring the many cultures of IRCO, our next Faces of IRCO event will be exploring the culture, history, food and politics of Burma (Myanmar). Last year Oregon welcomed over 100 Burmese people and we are expecting to have many more resettled into the area in the coming year. This presents a great opportunity to learn a bit more about the Burmese populations IRCO serves and the unique situations people have come from and the experiences they have had since arriving in the United States. Also, you’ll get the chance to sample some typical Burmese food!
What: Faces of IRCO: Burma
When: Wednesday, March 24, 2010 – 6:30pm-8:00pm
Where: IRCO Main Office
