How important are critical thinking skills in a decreasingly objective media stream. When
Daniel Schorr set up his Twitter account, I asked him what he thought
we were losing in the shift to social media. His answer, in short, was
editing. The burden of fact-checking has shifted from the journalist
(amateur or professional) to the recipient. Unfortunately, teaching
critical thinking skills has gotten lost with an ever-increasing
emphasis on standardized testing. What are the implications of a
no-holds-barred media stream? Does objectivity matter?
