Hi there friends -- just a quick report on 2 chance contacts this week:
First, I ran into a friend who an organizer/speaker at the Mult. Co. Democratic fundraiser/dinner on Sept. 6, which will be attended by elected mucky mucks and grassroots folks.  Leslie will announce our event from the podium that night.

Then, today at the CIO-Urban League rally for Michael Brown, I saw my friend Dave Land, who's heart/soul are immersed in Jobs with Justice.  Dave and Laurie will send out to the JWJ list, which includes lots of unions.  They would be great to contact about endorsing / sponsoring. Ditto SEIU and AFSCME.

The JWJ folks are co-sponsoring a climate event with the Musicians Union, this Sunday. Aug. 17 from 3-7 pm at the Musicians Union, with various musicians playing.  Free event -- Please do stop by in Solidarity!  Details are here:  http://nwlaborpress.org/2014/07/musicians-union-hall-goes-solar/

Local 99 Musicians Union (Sunday event if you can stop by)
325 NE 20th Ave, Portland, OR 97232
(503) 235-8791

Jobs with Justice (contact for sponsorship/endorsement)
1500 NE Irving St #585, Portland, OR 97232
(503) 236-5573
Chris and Marco are both great people.
Chris Ferlazzo • Director • ch...@jwjpdx.org
Marco Mejia, Organizer ma...@jwjpdx.org

The member list of Earth Share of Oregon (about 40 orgs, it looks like) includes 20 or 30 Oregon green groups, with contact info for the groups.   All are potential endorsers and cosponsors.

To update/clarify the "volunteer commitment" of my original post, looks like I'm for 5-9 hours a week and counting the days go by.
