I'm wondering if there are members of this group who have experience
with a private practice who would be willing to give their thoughts on
building a practice. I'm a new clinician and want to make sure I'm
doing everything I should or can to build my business and get clients
in the door. I'd love to hear your thoughts...

I second this! and Stephanie if you remind me I will share some
handouts from a workshop I went to.

I would recommend anything from Lynn Grodzki, a private practice consultant. She has books, coaches (good and practical). She also has a free email newsletter that is informative. Her website is

For website development, Uncommon Practices. If you list with Psychology Today, there is a clinican's section on marketing.

I operate a therapy office in which private practitioners rent office space.  Everyone here has started a private practice from scratch.  I would be happy to answer any questions  you might have.  Feel free to call me at 503-320-0762 or email me directly.

I read Lyn Grodskys stuff as well and find it helpful.

Good luck,
