Sorular Sean'ın önerdiği üzere bana ve Andrew'e gelmiş ama tanıtım komitesi yardımcı olursa sevinirim. Hem time-out dergisi fln diyor.. Bi önceki mailde Sean'ın dediğine göre pazar günü maçları görmeye gelecekmiş.

Bilginize.

Hi guys,

As Sean mentioned, Time Out would like to do a piece for next month's issue on the history of Ultimate in Turkey, and how it's expanded into what it is today. I'm really excited to help with it. So, let's start with these questions:

How did you first get involved/started with Ultimate? Why?
What was the state of Ultimate like when you first started?
How have you seen Ultimate expand? What was its early history like? How was it treated?
What was the initial make-up of the Ultimate teams like? Mostly locals? Mostly foreigners? How has it changed?
To what do you attribute its success?

Thanks for the help--feel free to go off on other questions too if you prefer. More is always better :-)

We're trying to get the issue laid out in the next week or so (sorry for the short notice), so if you guys could get back to me with answers by next Tuesday, that would be super-helpful.

Thanks!

Will Zeman

Selam Cem,
Aşağıda çizittirdim ben bişiler.

How did you first get involved/started with Ultimate? Why?
At the end of 2006, a group of Ultimate lovers have come together in Istanbul, naming themselves Turk Kasi (TK), to play the game. I heard about TK and Ultimate through Sean's flatmate Emrah, who's my close friend and I started to participate in the games. Emrah thought I'd like the sport and he was right :)

What was the state of Ultimate like when you first started?
The group was not well dedicated and disciplined, but rather the games were at fun level. People were coming together at the weekends to play each other. The American guys were teaching the game rules, throwing techniques, drills etc. to the newbies. And there was only TK, a bunch of people.

How have you seen Ultimate expand? What was its early history like? How was it treated?
Ultimate expanded through word of mouth. Friends of people playing with TK, were attracted and new people started to show up in the practices as time goes by. At the end of 2008, a new group of people came into the scene in Ankara, Bilkent Goats (BG) of Bilkent University. Their development was apart from TK and the two teams started communication afterwards. Number of TK players was also growing and some TK players took the initiative to start university teams in ITU, Bogazici, ODTU and latest Yeditepe after BG. Besides a second amateur team was formed in Anatolian side, with the same status as TK, who called themselves Caddebostan Olympics.
After all these teams were built, the Turkish Ultimate scene started to be more comparative and exciting. The quality level of matches started to go up and concept of tournaments and leagues were established as a necessity. Oyunun Ruhu Derneği is a formal body now and represents all the amateur and university teams in the current situation.

What was the initial make-up of the Ultimate teams like? Mostly locals? Mostly foreigners? How has it changed?
At the very beginning, the majority of TK players were foreigners who have worked or studied in Istanbul. After a period more and more local players were attracted with the sport and opposite to that our foreigner friends started to leave Turkey (their study period was over, their working contracts expired etc.)
TK then kept on going with its own players. University teams have also included exchange students/teachers, but the majority of their squads is also local players.

To what do you attribute its success?
Bu soruyu tam anlamadım açıkçası. Ultimate'ın türkiye'deki başarısını neye bağlıyorsunuz mu demek istemiş?
Buna da siz bişiler eklersiniz olmadı.

Selamlar,
Tunca

Bilkent TK'dan ayrı diye yazdım orda zaten.
Kız oyuncu güzel nokta, bahsedelim bence de.
