At ORCID, we are constantly working to make our ecosystem more secure for the researchers and organizations we serve. We are writing to let you know that we are currently upgrading the software that power our authentication and API authorization processes.
Why this matters for your team: This upgrade moves us to the latest security software, providing more robust protection for data exchanges. For your developers and testers, this means a more reliable and performant API.
Checklist for Testers:
We are aware that some of you are actively developing against our Sandbox environment. While we expect this rollout to be seamless, we recommend your team performs a quick health check on the following in the sandbox environment before 24 March:
User Login Flow: Ensure the "Sign-in with ORCID" flow remains uninterrupted.
API Requests: Verify that your system is successfully exchanging tokens and fetching data.
Error Logging: Alert us if you see a spike in authentication-related error codes.
We’re here to help. If your development team notices any degradation in performance or unexpected behavior, please reach out to us at Member Support [mailto:member...@orcid.org].
Thank you for your continued support in keeping the ORCID ecosystem secure and efficient.
