I would like to suggest that you do not display the "source-work-id" type of work-external-identifier. The value of this identifier is likely to be obfuscated or otherwise not understandable outside of the source system. Its value should be available to the author as it is their record, but it should not be displayed in the brief display. For example, here is a JWT (JSON Web Token) I am using and, well, it does not fit

Hi Andrew,

For suggestion for new features or changes to existing features we ask that you submit them through the iDeas forum at http://support.orcid.org/forums/175591. The forum allows for public comment and voting on the suggestion, and is how we try to funnel suggestions from the community into action items for development.

For this suggestion I can say that I'm concerned about identifiers not being visible since they are used for grouping works, and without them it's not clear why items are grouped together.  That being said, we might be able to look at truncating identifiers, and with later releases of 2.0 we'll be changing how identifier types are set up so there may be a better solution for specific identifiers formats you are using, such as JWT.

Best,
-Catalina
