Hi,

I have worked very closely with Mr. Rao for the Society Conveyance work which made considerable progress during that period.

He is a very learned man in these matters and helped me with the RTI filing with BMC for getting the building plans which the builder was refusing to give.

Also his knowledge on DCRs and other government regulations was excellent and I was his representative (on behalf of the society) at the advocate.

At the personal level-  he was a very jolly chap who used to love playing with my son when my son used to accompany me to his house for society work (I remember Pramod telling me that his son’s best friend was Mr. Rao-  maybe the biggest age difference in 2 friends!).

Although he was a bureaucrat his ways of living were simple and honest and I am sure his record was impeccable in the home ministry and other places he has served the country.

May his soul rest in peace !

Regards,

Ashwin

Hi Orchid Members,

This is to express my deep condolance and my remembrance of Shri B M Rao.
My association started with him when we moved in to Orchid in Oct 2004. At that time we were eager to meet Orchid members. In that process one day we met him on the way to Govandi market one evening when he & his wife were going to buy vegitables. He was quite impressive and very polite in his manners. The wisdom & maturity was very much felt in his deeds & words.Later on I came to know that he was very active in the administration of the housing society where he previously he lived. So when I also became active in our society activities I learned the fundamentals of society administration and because of him I read the society rule book "Bye laws of Co Op Housing Society" and about Appartment Owners Association rules. He was so conversent with these documents that he can tell the bye law no. and the pages where it appears. I was associated with his draft preparation for the convayance deed for presenting to the advocate for further action.
He was a through gentleman with explicit mannerism. He is very jovial and enjoys to share his experiances. He was a very happy man and always sees the positive side of things. He was very fond of his grand children & children and like to talk about their achievements & determinations.
Even though he had very severe ailments he never talked about that and always presented himself very healthy.
In his departure we all lost a great friend, philosopher & guide.Let us all pray for the departed soul.
Sethuram.
