How to view footprints & assign them for PCB layout?

The 1st thing I would like to do is check what footprints are supplied with OrCAD, how can I view them easily and "catch their names" for assigning them later?

2nd thing, I would like to assign the correct footprint for each symbol in my schematic. I know I can open up project properties on the schematic page and get a table of all the components (properties) and enter the footprint there. Is there another way to do this that is more "safe"? I would like to be able and preview the footprint before assigning to prevent errors.
