Soldermask clearance

Using a vendor's design error application I have found that I get a lot of errors due to insufficient soldermask clearance using Orcad Layout Version 9.00. How can I correct this?

Turn on the soldermask to soldermask rules and reduce the soldermask openings.  This may be impacted by the soldermask colors.

Other option is some fabs have high precision lines the have better soldermask control, or try using a dry film instead of LPI.
Look at IPC 7093 Release A.  There are great specs on soldmask typical rules.
