Hi everyone,

We're having some hosting problems right now and so orbited.org is
currently down. I'll try to get it back up as soon as I can, but I
don't really have an ETA for that right now. I'll post again if I get
more information before we're able to get the site back up.

In the meantime: the mailing list, IRC channel, and bitbucket repo
(http://bitbucket.org/desmaj/orbited) are functional. Please continue
to use these resources and we'll do our best to answer questions until
the site returns.

Thanks,
Matthew

Anything we can do to help out here? Having access to the docs is
nice, and given the range of projects using this tool I don't doubt
you could get some resources for hosting the project. ;)

cheers

Thanks for the offer, but I'm afraid that there isn't much you can do
right now. I'm hopeful that, one way or another, we'll have this
resolved in the next couple of days.

Thanks,
Matthew

Has the site been down for a month? I'm trying to provision a new
production box for an app which uses Orbited, and I don't know of a
way to install Orbited while orbited.org is down... ETA for the site
being back up, or alternative installation?

The site has been down for that long and, at this point, I'm not sure
if it will be back. In the meantime, you can always get the latest
stable orbited release here:
http://pypi.python.org/pypi/orbited

If you have questions or need help, ask on the mailing list and we'll
try to help out if we can.

Thanks,
Matthew

Yah, I've been umm noticing the lack of websites lately too. I spent
a couple hours trying to collect links together. If the link above
isn't useful enough, these seems to be the places development is
happening:

Orbited 1.x: https://bitbucket.org/desmaj/orbited/src/
Orbited 2.x: https://github.com/mcarter/orbited2
js.io: https://github.com/mcarter/js.io

I have a production box running Orbited and I also miss the website -
are there
plans at all to have the website back up? Anything I can help with?

We should be able to find hosting somewhere, specially for the more
static parts (documentation etc.) since the source itself is available
on other places.

Meanwhile, check out http://web.archive.org/web/20090215061750/http://orbited.org/wiki/Documentation

I'ts quite old but it might give some info

I'm not sure what we're looking for, I haven't had access to those
parts of orbited.

Desmaj, I'm not sure what is down, but do we have a backup-content of
the site? I.e a full site-dump. If so it would be quite simple to host
it elsewhere (I can probably host it, and I'm sure many others can
too)

I see people asking questions about the configuration of the orbited.

There should be a backup. My suggestion is to make the site available as soon as possible. I have a dreamhost account. Too bad i am out of free domain registration, it is ~10$ per year. I can host it freely if the domain is registered.
